Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington is a Greek American author syndicated columnist as well as a businessperson. She co-founded The Huffington Post, is the founder and CEO of Thrive Global as well an author of a number of novels. Arianna Huffington is a writer, philanthropist, television personality and owner of the independently liberal online news magazine The Huffington Post. Born in Greece Arianna Huffington immigrated to England along with her family members at the age of 16. At Cambridge University she earned a MA diploma in Economics. She was elected president at the age of 21 of the famed debating society The Cambridge Union' and was the first foreign student in the history of Cambridge University to be elected. Following the graduation ceremony, she was an important conservative journalist who was syndicated. Then, a couple of years later, she founded The Huffington Post which featured critical commentary on the current political landscape. It was her celebrity that brought in a variety of famous contributors to share their views on news, politics as well as culture. Arianna became famous after she decided to be an independent candidate for the California Recall Election to replace Governor Davis. Alongside this she was the leader of the Detroit Project for efficient vehicles that use less fuel. In 2009 she was named by Forbes as The most influential women in media gaining 12th position on their list. The same year the Guardian named her to the top 100 of the media lists. In the year 2011, AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post and made her president of the media division, which contained many then-existing AOL properties too such as Engadget AOL music Style list and Patch Media. Elli was the son of Konstantinos journalist, who is also a management consultant. They were very close to her father. However, it was her connection to her mother that formed her. In her early time, she showed her leadership qualities for which are still in high demand. When she was 16 she relocating to the United Kingdom to pursue her studies. She enrolled into Girton College Cambridge. At the time of her studies she joined the Cambridge Union debating group where she became the first female president and only foreign president. After graduating in 1972, she received a master's degree in Economics. The years that followed the graduation ceremony, she worked as an anchor on television and a columnist. In addition, she was a part of an episode of Face the music along with Bernard Levin and began writing books, utilizing editorial guidance from the latter.
